01 — Foundation

Move beyond the primary channels into a more complete vision of the body.

In order to understand acupuncture, it is imperative that we study all of the channels and structures, the extra channel space, that they course through.

Do you use any of the channel systems outside the primary channels? Do you understand how the body moves pathogens, toxins, or even emotional trauma into latency? Are you able to track the interactions of Wei Qi (衛氣), Ying Qi (營氣), and Yuan Qi (元氣) in the channels?

Using the whole system of acupuncture gives us the ability to treat the whole person. This program is rooted in the classical texts, oral tradition, and many years of clinical experience using these channels. Each weekend combines thorough theoretical understanding with clinical applications, needling techniques, and hands-on skill development.

02 — The Four Channels

Four systems. Two dimensions of study.

Each channel system is explored twice: first through a two-day foundational weekend, then through a three-day clinical integration weekend. Together, they form the architecture of this mentorship.

See what is possible when theory becomes practice. In this rare live clinical immersion, Evan demonstrates exactly how deep diagnosis leads to confident, effective treatments—the kind of insight that transforms your clinical results. Over three days of each channel system, you'll observe complete live cases from nuanced pulse and tongue work through strategic treatment selection across all channel systems. You'll witness needle techniques demonstrated with precision, compare treatment options in real time, and build longitudinal care plans for ongoing patient management. Continuous Q&A throughout ensures you can integrate concepts directly into your own practice.

The Sinews 經筋

The Sinew Channels (經筋 Jingjin) mediate our relationship to the external environment. These channels are the map of the Wei Qi (衛氣) terrain. They define our structural alignment and the most exterior boundaries of where and how we meet the world. The application of the Sinew Channels can be especially important and powerful for the treatment of pain, neuromuscular dysfunction, muscular-skeletal conditions, seasonal allergies, environmental sensitivities and many other conditions involving the Wei Qi (衛氣).

The Luo Vessels 絡脈

The Luo Vessels (絡脈 Luomai) are a powerful means to treat the Shen (神) and the emotions. The Luo Vessels (絡脈 Luomai) give direct access to Blood/Xue (血), the substance that carries Shen (神) and provides the matrix for our conscious, emotional life. Yet these channels remain largely unknown or underutilized in most acupuncture practices. Using the Luo Vessels (絡脈 Luomai) can be especially important for the treatment of psychological and emotional conditions, trauma, circulatory and cardiac conditions, digestive disorders and any imbalance involving the Blood/Xue (血) and Ying Qi (營氣).

The Divergent Channels 經別

The Channel Divergences (經別 Jingbie) are a powerful meridian system able to treat chronic degenerative disease. These channels are perhaps the most mysterious and least understood. However, these underutilized channels can offer strategies to empower practitioners to treat longstanding and complex conditions with increased confidence. These channels offer key insights into the concept of immunity and can be used to treat a very wide range of conditions from chronic pain to complicated autoimmune disease.

The Eight Extraordinary 奇經八脈

The Eight Extraordinary Vessels (奇經八脈 Qi Jing Ba Mai) represent the deepest constitutional layer of a human being. These most fundamental channels guide our essence/Jing (精) from conception and early childhood to maturity and old age. This class will cover each of the Eight Extraordinary Vessels (奇經八脈 Qi Jing Ba Mai), examining in depth the classical teachings, physiology, pathology and clinical applications.

Many constitutional and congenital conditions can be addressed with the skilled use of these meridians. The course will also explore the use of the Eight Extraordinary Vessels (奇經八脈 Qi Jing Ba Mai) in Daoist internal alchemy/nei dan (內丹). Participants will be invited to understand these channels as pathways for their own inner cultivation as well as keys to helping their patients heal.
